"Frosty's Heating and Cooling" - Frosty's Heating & Cooling

What fools are they....
Chase it and it's contents off your property

There are many ‘Frosty’ websites for ac/heat pump stuff. Many different companies in the US use that name in one way or another. They may have been a network for Grand Aire equipment at some point. The information in this section refers to ‘Frosty’s in Interlachen, Florida. In business since 2015 and the Grand Aire equipment they install.

The first heat pump unit reported here is a Grand Aire, installed by Frosty’s. After not being able to get it to run properly, they gave up and walked away, never showing up for the annual maintenance checkup. That voided any warranty and the insurance policy they recommended. This unit didn’t function properly from day one and the manufacturer has been of no help.

The second unit is also a Grand Aire and that owner had a similar experience and no help from the manufacture. It froze up so bad the plastic nameplate broke off. It also has a condensate pan leak and the compressor had to be replaced after less than a year in service. The condensate leak isn’t much of a problem since this unit removes almost no water from the air compared to the old one. That’s one plus, a blocked condensate line won’t cause a problem.

Both Grand Aire units will only function fair to middling when the outside temperature is between 45 and 90 degrees F. Below 45 you will need heat strips and above 90, one or more window units to back it up. It should be noted that in both of these cases the Grand Aire units were the same tonnage and SEER rating as the replaced unit.

The owner of a third unit, shown below, acknowledged a major unresolved problem with the Grand Aire equipment installed by Frosty’s. In all cases, the installer walked away when they couldn’t figure out what the problem was.
